Conducting research is one of the most rewarding ways to contribute to your field of study. Sharing ideas and findings with scholars in your discipline enriches the community’s body of knowledge as a whole, and it expands your personal knowledge and academic growth.
More tangibly, research is a highly respected activity within academia, and conducting research at the undergraduate level will make you a more desirable candidate for scholarships, graduate schools, and employers. You can present your work at conferences and showcases, such as UCF’s annual Showcase of Undergraduate Research Excellence (SURE). In addition, you can submit your work for publication in scholarly journals like the UCF Undergraduate Research Journal. Once you have completed the hard work of conducting your research, we, at the UCF URJ, encourage you to share it with the academic community.
